0345 Numbers

Why an 0345 number helps your organisation

If your organisation has used an 0845 number for years, those digits are on your letters, invoices, vans and website. Customers have saved them in their phones. An 0345 number lets you move to a cheaper number for callers while keeping the same last seven digits, so the change feels small to everyone who already knows you.

The bigger difference is for your callers. Calls to 0845 numbers include a service charge on top of the caller's own access charge. Calls to 0345 numbers are charged like a normal landline call and come out of inclusive minutes. For a busy customer service line, that removes a reason for people to hesitate before they ring.

About 0345 numbers

0345 numbers were introduced as matching alternatives for organisations with 0845 numbers. The digits after the prefix can stay the same, so 0845 xxx xxxx becomes 0345 xxx xxxx. Although they mirror the old range, 0345 numbers are charged as 03 numbers: callers pay the same as calling an 01 or 02 number, and calls count towards inclusive minutes on landlines and mobiles. You can choose any available 0345 number from our range. If you hold an 0845 number, our team can check whether the matching 0345 number is available for you.

Customer service lines leaving 0845

Service teams that took calls on an 0845 number can switch to the matching 0345 number and tell customers that only one digit has changed.

Organisations with a lot of printed material

When a number appears on signs, forms and packaging, a matching 0345 number keeps updates simple. The old and new numbers look almost identical, so the change is easy to explain.

Membership and subscription services

Clubs, associations and subscription services often have long-standing members who call regularly. An 0345 number keeps the familiar pattern while making those calls cheaper for them.

How your 0345 number works

An 0345 number from Alphatalk can divert to any UK landline or mobile, or to Alphatalk's cloud phone system. During a move from 0845 you can point both numbers at the same destination, so no call is missed while customers catch up. Change the destination at any time in myAlphaTalk, our customer portal. Time-of-day routing handles office hours and out-of-hours calls, voicemail messages go straight to email, and call statistics show how calls build up on the new number. Every number is £4.99 a month and includes 1,000 free UK minutes. Standard numbers have no setup fee, Silver and Gold numbers are more memorable and carry a one-off charge, and Platinum numbers are priced on application. If your 0845 or 0345 number is with another provider, you can port it to us, and our UK team will set everything up.
